LEGACY

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

When you pop a cork on a bottle of wine do you ponder the passion that went into the bottle?  Think about it.  You’re holding a glass filled with the passion and inspiration of an intimate group who put their heart and soul into making what you are sipping: a singular vision of excellence in vineyard expression

John Loeb

FOUNDER

John L. Loeb, Jr. was the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark from 1981 to 1983. He then served as a United States Delegate to the United Nations. Ambassador Loeb has been growing grapes at his Russian Riverbend Vineyards in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County since 1973. The grapes from these vineyards have been purchased by many of California’s leading wineries.

Since 1990, John Loeb has devoted a small portion of his best Chardonnay to the production of Sonoma-Loeb wines. The wines are made using traditional Burgundian techniques including barrel fermentation, malolactic fermentation and extended sur lie aging.

Nick Loeb

PROPRIETOR

Beginning in 2005, Nick Loeb re-imagined how Sonoma-Loeb could interact and stand out in a world that was changing very quickly. He was one of the first to embrace social media and make it an integral part of the company identity.

He set his sights on innovating green tech, a vision that has made Sonoma-Loeb the world’s first carbon neutral wine producer. It was his goal to take Sonoma-Loeb’s winemaking talents and marry them with his own business and technological innovations. The combination has proven to be a potent one as Sonoma-Loeb continues to grow both in quality and in stature year over year.
